Flax Home Co-Founders Share Tips for Setting a Table and Hosting a Memorable Dinner Party – Entertainment Tonight

Flax Home co-founders Vivian McCormick, Anna Heyd, and Oana Papuc are experts when it comes to delivering luxury and comfort to linen lovers with their line of bedding, towels, and home goods, loved by Catt Sadler and more celebrities.
Now, the three women are bringing their products to dining room tables with the launch of the Heirloom Dine Collection  featuring tablecloths, kitchen towels, and napkins, all made to connect people around the table and create memories.
“Second to my love of sleep, cooking and sharing a meal with friends and loved ones is what lights me up. In designing a collection of linen products for the kitchen and around the table, we wanted to make the simplest weeknight dinner as special as a holiday soirée. … This collection brings the feeling of dining out into the home, where people can have intimate dinners, gather for a family style meal, or celebrate important milestones, right where they live,” McCormick tells ET.
“People will love that this is the sort of linen they can use every day, and that if cared for properly, should last a lifetime,” Heyd continues.
“In my house, food is love. Making that time special makes everyone feel connected, and having a beautifully set table is a big part of that,” Papuc adds.
Beyond using quality dining essentials, the co-founders believe small details can contribute to hosting the perfect dinner party.
“I am loving dried flower arrangements at the moment. They add such a beautiful visual to a dinner table, with basically no maintenance,” McCormick says.
Heyd is a plant lover as well, including everything from florals to succulents. “Styling your table with fresh local flowers or other blooms is a stunning touch. … Fresh, unwaxed eucalyptus is another huge favorite of mine. It can easily be styled flat on your dining table and the scent it adds to the room is sublime,” she notes.
In addition to a gorgeous tablescape, the businesswomen recommend serving special dishes and drinks to attendees.
“It can be really fun to involve your guests in bringing a meal together. One way I’ve experienced that is through a dumpling-making party, where I pre-made the filling and guests wrapped dumplings while chatting and drinking wine,” McCormick tells ET.
Papuc is all about setting up appetizers and drinks to welcome guests, which also allows for extra time to finish cooking. “I always put out a charcuterie board with bread, olives and more to fend off hungry guests while I finish dinner. … A drink also helps set the mood when guests first arrive,” she explains.
According to Heyd, another way to set the mood is by curating a couple of great playlists with different vibes.
“There’s nothing worse than arriving at a home filled with silence. Start with mellow music that won’t overpower the cocktail or dinner conversation, but have a dance party playlist ready for after dessert, just in case the night goes in that direction,” she says.
