Caring Transitions of Honolulu to sell office supplies, appliances in online auction – Pacific Business News – Pacific Business News (Honolulu)
A local business is downsizing its warehouse and an inventory of office supplies, appliances, tools and more is up for grabs in an online auction.
Steve Tokita, president and owner of the Caring Transitions of Honolulu, which is hosting the auction, said Thomas Matthews, owner of Trade West Inc., dba Nani Makana Distributors, has had a longtime business location and warehouse in Iwilei, but has decided to downsize and move.
“In that process, we are helping him clear out his Iwilei offices and he has a lot of business furniture, business equipment and decor items that he’s trying to sell to facilitate him leaving his old location,” Tokita told PBN.
According to Tokita, Matthews has a number of product lines marketed through local ABC Stores and also distributes to other businesses on the mainland. With Covid, “he took a big hit” when the tourism market slowed down.
“In this effort, he’s now trying to right size and get to a smaller size that he can deal with more, and, of course, eventually, I think, expand again.”
The auction includes items like cubicle panels and cubicle systems.
“So other businesses looking to pick up things can probably get a deal on it,” Tokita said.
Other items up for grabs include desks and tables, chairs, vintage typewriters, shelving, filing cabinets, ladders, refrigerators, commercial mixers, microwaves, coffee makers, and various tools, machinery and decor.
The auction is ongoing and will close Nov. 4.
